As most of you know for the last couple of months I’ve been working on a GIANT 9FT x 5FT abstract commission for a local business (Bitwerx) in Lexington, located in The Summit. I explained the entire building process a couple of posts ago.
After successfully laying the third and final coat of epoxy resin (hallelujah🙌). Next was planing the edges, and getting any extra resin drips sanded down. The final step was painting the freshly sanded and primed edges a metallic silver from Folkart called Golden Treasures another personal favorite of mine.
The next step was getting delivered and hung. Let be the first to say the day of transportation I was an absolute wreck. I felt as if I were going to vomit most of the day. My boyfriend and I bubble wrapped the shot out of it. And ever so carefully, not so gracefully we loaded into his pick up. Thankfully it was only a 15 minute drive from my studio to the business. Once we got there his brother, a wonderful contractor, helped us load into the building and hang it on the wall. Without a scratch or dent. And at that moment I felt at least 20 lbs leaving my shoulders.
It looks absolutely lovely in the foyer, and I’m so relieved, and amazed I could even lull it off. It never would have been possible with help of my two kids, boyfriend, and his brother for helping every step of the way.
Fascinating progress, creating this gorgeous painting , sanding the edges down, all the coats of resin, then waiting until it was totally dried- stepping back and looking at your masterpiece ‼️ So large, bubble wrapped several times ‼️ Hanging your masterpiece 🙌 . Congratulations your precious creation is hung. So fascinating ♥️💕 😊 🌹🌹 ☘️☘️
